Silver in Athens 2004 for Joachim B. Olsen
December 6, 2012Former Global Throwing member and a world class shot putter Joachim B. Olsen DEN got some good news recently. Eight years ago in Athens Olympic Games he won a bronze medal in shot put with a result of 21.07m. Soon he will swap it to a silver as four medallists from the 2004 Olympic Games were officially stripped of their medals on Wednesday by the International Olympic Committee.
Ukraine’s Yuri Belonog was disqualified from the Men’s Shot Put event where he had placed 1st. The analytical report indicated the presence of oxandrolone metabolite (an anabolic androgenic steroid).
Congratulations to Joachim. Global Throwing Group has now a full set of Olympic medals.
GOLD - Gerd Kanter (discus throw 68.82m), Beijing 2008
SILVER - Joachim B. Olsen (shot put 21.07m), Athens 2004
BRONZE - Gerd Kanter (discus throw 68.03m), London 2012
We congratulate as well our friend’s Adam Nelson USA and Manuel Martinez ESP on the gold and the bronze medals.
