Kim Danish Champion

Kim Christensen won the Danish Championships today in Skive, Denmark with a throw of 19.23m.

This result is the best performance of Kim this indoor season. It is very good for him as now he is back to his normal level after a tough summer last year. Still his indoor PR is 19.65m since last year. During that season he had his international breakthrough when he got 10th place at the European Indoor Championships with a throw of 19.55m.

Kim had a good series today with four throws over 19m. He felt he did better but did not hit it as he can best so there is more to come from Kim. Still, very good for him and a big step towards an outdoor season that I am sure he will have a great one.

We did not really concentrate on indoors this year for Kim it was more just to work through it and get a good focus for getting back. Kim did that and he should be proud of himself for doing that. Kim has worked hard and deserves this result.

Nick had a tough day and got second place with 18.03m. There is much more there too and he just needs to learn to control his power and then there will be no problem.

RESULTS:
Kim Christensen 19.23m
Nick Petersen 18.03m
Lasse Larsen 17.38m
Kenneth Mertz 16.76m
Michael Johansen 16.74m

Now we keep on training and will take EAA Winter Throwing Challenge in Arles, France the third week in March. The weekend after, we have the Indoor Throwing Carnival here in Växjö. Kim and Nick will throw the shot in both meets but we will train through it.

I am happy with indoor so far. Kim 19.23m, Raigo 18.99m, Niklas 18.90m and Nick 18.36m without putting too much emphasis on it.

It will be fun outdoors.
