We had a good training camp

The first training camp for 2010 season is over for the Global Throwing Group. It was in Växjö, Sweden for the last two weeks. Participants were Gerd Kanter, Kim Christensen, Nick Petersen, Priidu Niit and Meigo Tammsaar as well as Indrek Tustit.

Gerd is in good situation. Even if he got a little pain in his lower back on the first day it was not serious and he managed with it. We used the camp to figure out some small adjustments in Gerd’s technique and it worked out. In relation to last year he is better shape even if that camp was very good.

Kim was struggling a lot with his technique during the camp but managed to get some good things going at the end. Then Kim is in his best physical shape ever and is getting bigger and stronger that he needs for the 2010 season.

Nick did really well, both technically and physically. We worked on some basic things that needs to change on the technical side and it got better. Then we went through some things that needs to be better in the other parts of training and that is an ongoing process.

Priidu is a big talent that came on the first official camp with the group even if he was here this spring as well with the Estonian junior group. Priidu got some breakthrough in his technique and worked well in the other parts of training and has a great future.

Meigo is also a big talent and definitely with a huge will to be good that is a talent that everybody does not have. He worked well during the camp and also got a technical breakthrough and worked hard in the weight room. Meigo has a great future.

As usually Indrek worked hard and helped me as well as Gerd and the other guys stay in one peace. I want to thank him once again for an outstanding job.

Sofie Widlund was my right hand during the camp taking care of administration as well as all kinds of small things needed for getting practical things to work. Thanks Sofie.

During the camp we had two visits from Spårvägen in Stockholm with Åke Ruus, Taina Ståhl and Daniel Ståhl. Thue Kvorning a Physical Training Expert from Team Danmark also visited us.

I am very happy with this training camp, all athletes did well and I feel good for each one of them in a different way for 2010 season. We have a long way to go and many more camps to go to but this was a good one.
